We can only progress to be the best from this point on. We look forward to working alongside with all the members of the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance to provide our students with a global perspective, which aligns true to the tagline of BERJAYA University College of Hospitality ‘Inspiring lives, Widening Horizons’."

School Presentation


The Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia extended an invitation on 4th April 2007 to Berjaya Corporation Berhad to establish a niche education institution of higher learning dedicated to specialising and championing the growth and development of the Hospitality, Tourism and Services industries. This was in view of the dynamic growth and demand for professionals in the Hospitality, Tourism and Services industry and the diverse resources that Berjaya Corporation Berhad has through its core businesses in Hotels, Resorts, Golf Clubs, Food & Beverage franchises, Property Investment and Development.

BERJAYA University College of Hospitality (BERJAYA UCH) received its licence to operate as an institution of higher learning on November 2008, offering programmes related to Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary Arts and Business Management from foundation to postgraduate levels. These programmes are offered through five Schools, namely: The Berjaya Business School, School of Culinary Arts, Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism and School of Liberal Arts. Foundation studies are offered to post-secondary school leavers as an entry qualifier to the undergraduate programmes.


Our Motto – “Aspire, Acquire, Achieve” is the guiding philosophy of the institution to deliver our promise of helping students realise their dreams and potential. To be respected and recognised as strong professionals in their fields of studies. Our commitment towards professional excellence focuses on ‘human capital development ‘with attention to quality teaching, learning and research that are unique characteristics that differentiate us from other institutions.

The University College offers an integrated classroom-community which are live labs for students to learn and apply their knowledge and skills in real-life situations, which is the BERJAYA Immersion Methodology. A significant part of this approach depends greatly on the innovative academic curriculum, delivered both inside and outside of the classrooms. It is both academic and career-focused, and is based on the ‘Learning by Doing’ principle. This approach educates our students to think critically, communicate effectively, work productively and manage professionally right from the their first day on campus.

BERJAYA UCH strongly believes that education is the driving force that will better the world and hold a steadfast commitment of educating a new generation of global professionals and leaders for the Hospitality, Tourism and Services industries. Hence it plays an important role in nation building.
