Institut Paul Bocuse accelerates its international development strategy via expansion in the Middle East: The Institute of Management - The Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ/Lebanon)

On April 14, 2016

On Thursday, April 7, in Beirut, Salim Daccache, superintendent of the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, and Hervé Fleury, Executive Vice-President of Institut Paul Bocuse, along with many ambassadors of the trade, formalized the signing of a new partnership that was established in Lebanon. A 16th partner joins the intimate circle of the Worldwide Alliance, which brings together higher learning schools and universities specialized in hospitality management and the culinary arts.

Founded in 1875, USJ has five campuses in Beirut, three regional centers in Lebanon and one campus in the United Arab Emirates. In the near future, its courses - which are accredited by the ECTS system - will enable the exchange of students between the two institutions. Once classes resume in January 2017, Institut Paul Bocuse will also enable its students to benefit from ERASMUS-certified exchange programs in order to further facilitate their mobility towards international markets.

By joining the Worldwide Alliance of higher learning schools specialized in excellence in Hospitality Management and the Culinary Arts created by the Institut Paul Bocuse, we aim to favor synergies between our two schools in order to identify young talents capable of meeting the challenges of the profession. We also seek to position the USJ at the center of a hub of international expertise so that it can fully participate in this promising market.
Joseph Chehab, Director of the Business Management / Hospitality Management Institute

Under the leadership of Institut Paul Bocuse, the partners of this global alliance share both their skills and experiences via rich multicultural educational exchanges that benefit both the institutions' students and teachers. Along with Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the USA, Finland, South Africa, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Greece, Mexico, Peru and Korea, Lebanon will also now strengthen Institut Paul Bocuse's presence in the Middle East zone.

With its objective of growing from 16 to 40 member schools within 5 years, Institut Paul Bocuse aims to establish a unique global education platform specialized in hospitality management and the culinary arts that is able to adapt to the future challenges of the booming international tourism sector.
