From June 19th to June 22nd 2017, the two winners of the International Pastry Contest held as part of the Chef Paul Bocuse Week 2016 came to Institut Paul Bocuse, Lyon, France.

The Chef Paul Bocuse Week 2016 was organized from November 14th to November 26th 2016. Following the guideline of the first edition held for the 10th year anniversary of the network two years ago, the Institut Paul Bocuse Worldwide Alliance paid tribute to Chef Paul Bocuse, his life and his work, during a two-week event held in each member universities campuses. Among the highlights of the celebration, a series of conferences, culinary demonstrations, wine tastings and workshops, special courses, gala dinners, and two international contests took place over the world at the same time.

It is in this way that the International Pastry Contest was organized. Eleven Alliance members set up a pre-selection in their own campuses, and elected the best team of students to represent their university for the final. The competition gave students the opportunity to compete with others, but above all to show their creativity and talent. They were asked to imagine, create, and bake an entremet which paid tribute to Monsieur Paul who turned 90 on February 2016.

Hyeonjeong Lee and Kyuchan Cho from Woosong University won first prize with their cake named "Memories of Paul Bocuse". They both win an official certificate, a cookbook, an embroidered chef jacket, and a stay at Institut Paul Bocuse. Thus, they came to Château du Vivier, Ecully, France from June 19th to June 22nd. Hyeonjeong and Kyuchan spent two days in the kitchen laboratories, learning more about French pastry and bakery. On June 21st, Mathieu Mouton, Head of the International Department of Institut Paul Bocuse, gave them their official certificates as well as the cookbook of the Worldwide Alliance (see picture above).
